NJCU Athletics Needs Production & Post-Production Personnel

GOTHIC VISION PRODUCTION CREW

Positions available for NJCU Co-op credit
· Live game camera operator
· Post-production video editor
· Play-by-play announcer
· Color commentator

LIVE GAME CAMERA OPERATOR: The successful candidates will operate a professional camcorder on a tri-pod through the course of a live athletic event webcast on the internet. In this position, qualified candidates will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, during both indoor and outdoor events. Dependability and timeliness are a must. Previous experience in camera work and filming or successful completion of comparable NJCU media courses is required.

POST-PRODUCTION VIDEO EDITOR: The successful candidate will edit footage of athletics events on a weekly basis as part of the streaming video packages available at njcugothicknights.com. In this position, qualified candidates will be able to create a highlight video, using production notes supplied by the executive producer of Gothic Vision. Ability to meet deadlines is a must. Previous experience in video editing or successful completion of comparable NJCU media courses is required.

PLAY-BY-PLAY ANNOUNCER: The successful candidate will serve as the play-by-play announcer for live athletic events webcast on the internet. In this position, qualified candidates must be comfortable speaking clearly on-air and provide descriptive content for the viewers while working alongside a secondary announcer. Strong organizational and oral communications skills are mandatory. Candidate should conduct the necessary research and preparation necessary for a successful broadcast. Previous on-air experience or completion of comparable NJCU media courses is required.

COLOR COMMENTATOR: The successful candidate will serve as the analyst for live athletic events webcast on the internet. In this position, qualified candidates must be comfortable speaking clearly on-air and provide descriptive content for the viewers while working alongside a primary announcer. Strong organizational and oral communications skills are mandatory. Candidate should conduct the necessary research and preparation necessary for a successful broadcast. Previous on-air experience or completion of comparable NJCU media courses is required.

Narratology @ Jersey City Museum



Narratology Showcase Premiere

“Narratology” is a showcase of short films and video works by New Jersey City University students and alumni curated by URBAN IMAGE, a collective of media artists based at the University. It will premiere in the Caroline L. Guarini theater on Friday evening, 6:30PM, December 5th, 2008, at the Jersey City Museum, 350 Montgomery Street in Jersey City. Admission is free and street parking is readily available.

The screening at the Jersey City Museum will commence with opening remarks by Rocio Aranda-Alvarado, Jersey City Museum curator and Jane Steuerwald, showcase curator. There will be a Q & A with artists present immediately following the screening.
