JC PowerHouse Short Film Festival - Accepting Submissions

Dear NJCU student/alum,

We are accepting submissions for short films to be featured the upcoming "JC PowerHouse Short Film Festival." It’s FREE to submit (Deadline Sept.16th, 2011).

The Festival will be happening during Jersey City’s Artist Tour (Sept.30th-Oct.2nd, 2011) in Jersey City, NJ. It's going to be a fun outdoors film festival in Jersey City’s "PowerHouse Arts District", co-sponsored by Jersey City Cultural Affairs.

NJCU Study in India Program - Sept. 19 deadline

The University is pleased to announce that NJCU’s Study India Program (SIP) is accepting

student applications for a 12-day travel program held in India from January 3rd to 15th , 2012.

Ten (10) NJCU students will be selected to visit Mumbai and participate in a cultural enrichment

program organized by our partner school, the HR College of Commerce and Economics

(HRCCE). The trip will include travel to Delhi to visit the Taj Mahal and other famous sites.

Scheduled activities in Mumbai include an Indian dance workshop, a site to a rural village electrification

project, a Bollywood film workshop, presentations on historic and contemporary India, and sightseeing

and shopping.


Program costs will be significantly subsidized by the NJCU Foundation. The cost to students for

this unique experience will be $1000, which includes airfare, hotel accommodations, and

meals. Students should also have at least an additional $200 for personal expenses.

The application process is competitive and students must meet eligibility requirements. The
