About Asian CineVision
Grassroots media activists in New York's Chinatown founded ACV in 1976. At a time of exceptional energy and political activism of diverse cultural groups, ACV's founders saw the need to bring greater social awareness of Asian American experience and history to both Asian American communities and to the public at large. In response to the lack of distribution and exhibition of Asian American works, ACV produced the first Asian American International Film Festival (AAIFF) in 1978. This year marks the 33rd anniversary of the Festival.
