Applicants to this position should have experience and expertise with sculpture (broadly defined) and digital technology as it pertains to fine art. We are seeking artist/educators receptive to teaching both BFA and BA students. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable working and thinking across disciplines, having interests and experience that extend beyond his or her visual specialty and encompass broader approaches to art practice and human knowledge.
Teaching assignments will include undergraduate courses specifically for students in their first and second years of Art+Design's foundation/core. In addition, the position will help provide academic support for a new BA in Visual Arts scheduled to begin the 2010-11 academic year. Other duties may include teaching advanced undergraduate courses in their areas of expertise, mentoring upper-level undergraduate and graduate students, and interacting with the Neuberger Museum of Art. Responsibilities will also include academic advising and community service (which encompasses committee work as well as College, School, and Board of Study governance).
Candidates should have a distinguished exhibition record and an interest in interdisciplinary approaches to art-making and teaching.
Qualifications: A terminal degree (MFA) in a studio discipline or commensurate experience and three years of college teaching experience are required.

4) Two statements of teaching philosophy: the first is a one-page statement about teaching sculpture/digital fine art; the second is a one-page statement about teaching entry-level college students, both BA and BFA (foundation/core). BOTH statements must be submitted as one document.
