hey all,
since this is my first posting, why not have it be shameless self promotion? here's a show that's just opening that has an old piece of mine....don't worry, what i plan to contribute to the MAD blog is going to be GOOD festival deadline information and any grants or job listings for film and video production. cool school, over and out, roddy.
Video Landscapes January 17, 2008- February28, 2008
Closing Party Thursday February 28 5-7 pm
In Video Landscapes, 7 film/video artists explore the notion of landscape in time based pieces presented in a gallery context. Is a landscape video like a landscape painting? Or does the medium itself create ephemera that can be harnessed and teased to create unfamiliar vistas? From poetic observations of the world as it is, to charged abstract representations of the nature of the video medium, these works challenge and tweak our notions of the real and the sublime in relation to the fleeting medium of video. From the jungles of Vietnam to the Mont Blanc in France to the San Francisco Bay, these works both inhabit and confront our way of looking at the world.
